Do you want to become an auditor?
Auditors play an important role within an organization by gathering information on the status of the management system and reporting this to management. Management uses the information to make decisions for improvement that enhances the organization’s ability to maintain and improve the management system and achieve its intended output.
In South Africa, we have a formal certification process (SAATCA) for aspiring auditors and the purpose of this process is to enhance auditor credibility and competence in this profession.
The steps to registration are:
- Relevant degree/diploma or four years experience relevant to degree/diploma
- Experience relevant to the discipline e.g. food safety (2 years)
- Management system standard training of at least three day duration
- Internal auditor training of at least three day duration
- Successful completion of a SAATCA registered Lead Auditor training course based on ISO 19011 conducted over 5 consecutive days.
- 120 audit hours formally documented AFTER completion of the Lead Auditor training
Annelie Coetzee Consulting offers the training needed for career development towards auditor registration.
